Cedar Glen Malt Shop
Opened in '46, and been in business for 65
years! Not bad for a restaurant. And they've
retained their 1950's style. If you or I went
looking for memorabilia from the era, we
would only find reproductions. In the case
of the Cedar Glen Malt Shop, some of the
decor, and the restaurant itself, are
originals.
Not to mention the excellent food. One site
gives a solid 5 stars out of 5, in the last six
reviews. Another site gives 4.5 stars out of
5, with 31 reviews. I've eaten there, and
concur with those ratings.
They have hamburger classics at around $6.25 to $7.50, fish & chips for $7.45, malts & shakes
for $4. The complete menu is here.
Members have long been asking for a dinner at the Malt Shop in Cedar Glen. So let's go there
Wednesday September 14 at 6 pm. Don't be late. They're located at 29125 Hook Creek Rd.,
Cedar Glen, phone number (909) 337-6640. A map is below.
They even have root beer floats like the 5 cent A&W ones I remember as a farm boy in Idaho.
That's better than standing in a warm cow patty on a cold morning!

Steam locomotives were still in use in the 1940s.
